Catering

Food Service offers full-service catering for students, departments, staff and private individuals as well as Moody sponsors and outside organizations hosted on the Moody campus. We desire to work with you to help you plan and service your special events.

Catering Venues

Not only can Moody Catering offer you excellent meals in our venues, but we can turn your meeting room or office into the stage for a wonderful coffee break or lunch. Enjoy your catered event in the Sweeting Center, Moon Building, a conference room in Crowell Hall or in your very own office. 

Northfield Room

Experience the history of D.L. Moody in this commemorative room displaying paintings, photographs, and letters from our founder’s life. Excellent venue for banquets, receptions or department meetings and presentations. Many service options are available in this venue, from full-scale banquets to ornate self-service buffets, making it an ideal choice for any event.

Kimball Room

A wonderfully utilitarian room can meet a number of event needs ranging from elegant dinners to minimal service business meetings. This honorary venue is an ideal place for any large group meeting, reception or dinner set in a simplistic, but modern, décor.

Sankey Room

An excellent room to service business meetings with its newly installed flat screen television, this room can also be transformed into a marvelous banquet setting.

Varley Room

Beautiful and intimate dining room in a traditional, formal decor perfect for elegant banquets, honorary dinners or private meetings. Experience the full service of the Moody Caterers in a three-course meal, or enjoy a private buffet meal with little interruption.

The Commons

The first floor of the Alumni Student Center provides ample room for large banquets commemorating the many years of service of a staff member, honoring athletes and their seasons' achievements, or bringing together Alumni for a fifty-year anniversary. Expect exemplary service and stunning presentation in this open venue.

Student Dining Room

Experience the warm lighting and coziness of this massive venue, appropriate for any event with a large number of guests. Versatile in every way, this large dinning room is an excellent place to host a  reception or banquet when you just can’t whittle down your guest list.

ASCII Fellowship Hall and Activities Room

This sunny, second-floor venue is an attractive location for any event, providing a beautiful view of the Moody plaza or the cityscape through large floor-to-ceiling windows. Elegant lighting and vaulted ceilings give this space a lofty and airy feeling, perfect for any themed party, or a grandiose banquet.

Meeting Rooms

  • The requisition of these rooms is the responsibility of the host of the event, and the Catering Department will deliver and set up the event
  • Furnishing and equipment varies from room to room and it is the responsibility of the host to arrange for the necessary items
  • Service fee will be assessed for the delivery of a break or event to the meeting room

Outdoor Venues

During Chicago’s warmer months, give your guests an outdoor experience. From the many locations to choose from such as the Sweeting Porch, Beckman Fields and the Plaza, these outdoor venues can be just the thing to make your event extraordinary.

  • Furnishing determined upon event request and in most cases, labor fees will apply for setup
  • Audio/Visual equipment is not included in any of our outdoor venues.
  • To best serve you please notify us of any outdoor event at least a month beforehand to ensure the availability of the venue
