What is the application deadline for an international student?
Visit our Application Deadlines page for current deadlines. It is recommended that international students start the application process earlier than students that are U.S. citizens due to the extra immigration-related paperwork.
What is the deadline to turn in all the required I-20 documents?
There is no deadline to turn in your documents for an I-20, however, keep in mind that the visa process is time-sensitive. The longer you wait to submit your documents for an I-20, the longer you post-pone your I-20, and the longer it will take to book your visa appointment. Visa appointment wait times vary from city to city. To find out your estimated wait time go to this US Department of State website. You must have a visa 30 days before your program start date.
Do you offer special scholarships for international students?
Yes, there are a limited number of scholarships available. Students are also encouraged to find support from outside sources, such as their home church or Christian organizations they intend to serve in the future. I am currently attending another school. How can I transfer to your school?
You must first submit your application to Moody’s Admissions office and be admitted. After you have been admitted, ISO will give you a Transfer-In form to complete. ISO will contact your current designated school official (DSO) to set up the I-20 release date. Once the transfer process is completed, we will issue you a new I-20. Please keep in mind that you must begin classes at the new school within five months.
Am I allowed to work while studying at Moody?
F-1 International students are only permitted to work on-campus. Once you are accepted to Moody, you are allowed to work on campus up to 20 hours per week (part-time) during the semester and up to 40 hours per week (full-time) during school breaks and holidays (i.e. Christmas, Spring, and Summer breaks) Some of the departments with available on-campus work are Residence Life, Food Service, Facilities, Library, and administrative work in various departments.
Can a spouse of the F-1 student work or take classes?
The F-2 spouse or child may not accept employment under any circumstances. He/she may not engage in full-time study but may study on a part-time basis. If he/she desires to pursue a dress on a full-time basis, he/she must first apply to USCIS for a Change of Status from F-2 to F1.
