Moody in Europe & Germany/Switzerland – Summer 2020
About the Program
Moody in Europe is a nine-week summer program that gives students the opportunity to travel through Italy, Switzerland, and Germany while taking up to three courses. Moody in Germany/Switzerland is a seven-week trip that joins the Europe group after Italy. Participants in this trip can take up to two courses abroad. Both trips visit significant places of the early church and the European Reformation. A voucher for one online course and one summer school course in Chicago is also included in both trips.
Moody in Europe runs from May 20 to July 26, 2020. The Moody in Germany and Switzerland program runs from June 6 to July 26, 2020. Please refer to the schedule included in the informational flyer under Program Schedule.
Students may choose one of the following courses per session:

The cost of Moody in Europe is approximately $7,600-$7,800. The cost of Moody in Germany and Switzerland is approximately $5,700-$5,900. Pell-eligible loans and the Payment Plan are both available. Program cost includes accommodations, most meals, a study tour and a voucher for one online class and one summer school class. Airfare is not included in the cost.
Applications and Deposits
To secure a spot in the program, you must submit a fully completed online application and a non-refundable deposit of $1,000. Applications for Moody in Europe & Germany/Switzerland 2020 will open September 6.
Completed applications must be turned in online. Spots are secured on a first come, first served basis, however G.P.A and faculty recommendation are also considered. Once a program is full, any additional students wanting to participate in the program will be placed on a waiting list.
There are four options available to make the deposit payment: check, cash, electronic payment or ACH payment. Please see below for instructions on each payment method.
CHECK OR CASH: Checks must be made out to Moody Bible Institute. Additionally, the program name along with the student’s ID number must be written in the memo line (for example: Europe, 4128637).
Checks or cash can be deposited on Crowell 4 to the Chicago campus teller. Teller hours are 9:00 a.m. to noon. You will need to give the following account number when making your payment: 11-03403. Bring the receipt to the Study Abroad office (Sweeting 302) or email a copy to email@example.com.
If sending a check from off campus, please keep in mind that both application and deposit payment must be received in order to secure a spot. Making a payment can be time sensitive for programs with a large amount student interest.

CREDIT CARD: To make a credit card payment please call Moody Central at (312) 329-4223 or visit the main desk on Culby 2. Request assistance to pay the deposit for the Study Abroad Program. Deposit payments do not go to individual student accounts. You will need to give the following account number when making your payment: 11-03403. Along with the account number, please give the program name and your student ID number to identify who made the payment and for which program the deposit was made. Please note that all credit card payments will be charged a 2.75% service fee.
Once the payment is made, you will need to request a receipt of the transaction. A copy of the receipt must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org for proof of payment.
ACH PAYMENT: In order to avoid this 2.75% credit card fee, you can make an ACH payment (a transaction which comes directly from your personal account) by calling Moody Central at (312) 329-4223 or visiting the main desk on Culby 2 and requesting to make an ACH payment. Request assistance to pay the deposit for the Study Abroad Program. Deposit payments do not go to individual student accounts. You will need to give the following account number when making your payment: 11-03403. Along with the account number, please give the program name and your student ID number to identify who made the payment and for which program the deposit was made.
Because you cannot request a receipt for an ACH interaction, be sure to confirm that Moody Central or Culby 2 communicates with the Study Abroad office that this payment has been made.

Vouchers are valid for two years after the program. For online courses, vouchers can be used for either 8-week or self-paced courses. Independent studies are not included in the online voucher. Vouchers may be used for up to a three credit-hour course. Vouchers may only be used after a student is confirmed in a program and has paid the full program cost.
To use a voucher, a student must first enroll in the course of his or her choice. When a student is enrolled in the course and a charge appears on the student's account, an e-mail with the subject title "Voucher" must be sent with the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org in order to have the voucher applied:
- Student Name and ID (example: Joe Smith, ID 1234567)
- Trip Attended (example: Moody in Germany Spring 2015)
- Professor Name: (example: Dr. Smith)
- Full Course Name and Number (example: GSU-2250-01 (1628) Introduction to Philosophy)
- Method (example: 8-week online, self-paced online, summer school or J-term)
- Cost (the charge that is posted to the student's account for the course)
Vouchers will not be applied until the student has emailed the complete list of above information.
